We didn't know what it would turn into, there was no reason whatsoever to believe it wouldn't stay a woodpecker, and Pikipek has a fucking STEEL GREY beak and feet. I almost suspect it WAS gonna be a Steel woodpecker with a drill beak until they changed their mind later.
