Anything prior to that was not under its influence, but rather Lusamine's weird coping obsession with it because Mohn wrote notes on it.
It's NEVER explicitly said she was poisoned from it, and we know how Nihilego's poison works, it latches onto you and literally fuses with you and you get poisoned as a result. Almost every single outlet for Pokemon info and even the strategy guide says that Lusamine was poisoned AFTER the fusion.
So when you disregard the fanon theory that Lusamine was a horrible mom because of Nihilego, she's exactly the same character in USUM but with a different priority.
The only difference is that the Ultra Recon Squad's involvement enlightened her and made her want to go after Necrozma instead.
By letting go of that stupid "she was always poisoned lelelelelel" that only /vp/ and reddit tinfoil theorists, you understand that her character essence has not changed and USUM delivers on giving her that closure instead of being hospitalized/in a coma.
