>>22571000>Is that not the same exact shit they did when we already had Psychic and Normal?Your retarded. Fairy is more like Dragon and Grass but completely different to not be compared by visual and conceptual design. It's a fantasy focused type that can be associated with nature and can have loads of inspirations. Yes you may say they went on the “pink-cutesy and girly” route on most of them(even though the majority of fairies aren’t pink), but fairies like Xerneas and Mawile are evidence alone that this type can bring old-traditional fairy designs to the table. Opening to new refreshing ideas for future designs to come.
>The only reason people like it is because they're "quirky" hipsters and like to make fun of "Dragonfags".I like it because it covers the ideas of Light and Magic as types existing except it has more logic applied to it. We also had an egg group named after the type and fairy pokemon themselves (Clefable and Granbull’s classifications). Its almost like they had this typed planned or conceptualized during the franchise’s run, until it was necessary to reveal it to the public. I understand there are people who still aren’t used to a type existing after a decade when Dark and Steel were a thing, but I feel that Fairy should been a thing a long time ago. Because it seems like an idea only Gamefreak would do. A very realistic idea that would’ve existed in the game if Fairy’s matchups were as necessary compared to today.
