That second post really does lay it all out. Gen 3/4/5 were all brand new Regions that put brand new characters in the spotlight. So these players don't sympathize with Game Freak looking back at their history in XY/SM, or giving big bro Leon a Charizard, or any other such "Kanto Pandering". It's also why they might rail against "West Kanto", because it doesn't fit into the mold that they're familiar with.

The irony is that these same posts can never seem to look past the Kanto shit. Every game has its own identity if you bother to pay any attention to cultural inspirations, history, world design and so on.

There is a lot of activity going on at the top of the Sprout Tower. Sages are running around to prepare for the trainer making his way up the tower.
