We did it, we made our way through Victory Road and managed to breeze through the Elite Four as well...but we were then humbled a little against Cynthia as Soliloquy Jones the Honchkrow bit the dust after finishing off both Spiritomb and Milotic, The Butler the Hitmonchan finishing off the rest of Cynthia's team. Kinda sucks not getting to champ a full team, but all things considered this was definitely not the worst mon to get to reuse later on, I'm just glad it wasn't Tauros since that was a strategic champ for HGSS.
