Can pick an overtly male or blatant fujobait design, but that would mean I'd miss using the only Water starter in the series worth a fuck or the only Grass starter in the series worth a fuck (as there was no point picking anything but Fire types pre-Gen 6 and Gen 6 offered Delphox for the males not easily brainwashed by the marketing).
My default is Fire type, the only times I felt compelled to pick either a water or grass starter was Primarina and Meowscarada, partly because their feminine bent, partly because they were legitimately better than ANY in-region water/Grass type and starter choice up to their introduction (and Prima's knbocked both followinbg water starters into a cocked hat on top).
