I mentioned this in another thread, which unfortunately died prematurely. I believe Oleana purposely has a menacing look right now as a sort of red herring. I believe when players finally meet her in game, she'll begin as the cold and meticulous secretary of the Chairman. However, over the course of the game, she'll make contact with the protagonist, both in person and over wireless communications, giving them hints and insights into operations of the league, Chairman Rose, maybe Leon, and a few other topics. She may also have a few gifts to offer, such as a TM, some gear, or even a Key Item. Ultimately, at the climax of the game, I can truly see her helping the protagonists to navigate the headquarters/ancient site/whatever in order to prevent the misuse of Zacian/Zamazenta or "Eternatus". If evil Rose and/or evil/manipulated Leon does end happening, then she'll probably request Sword-kun/Shield-chan to stop/rescue them as well.
As you said, there's a lot of potential with the story this time, and it's a change the recent games have that I enjoy. I just hope there's less immersion breaks for unimportant, two minute dialogues like SM/USUM lol. If August has another news video, I sure do hope "Team Yell" finally makes their appearance.
