You have to understand that my old man has been loyal to Pikachu for 20 years. This guy was severely depressed in the late 90's and remembers almost nothing from that time, but one thing that sticks out to him is Pikachu rejecting the Thunderstone. He just got a kick out the Pikachu during the Thanksgiving parade this year and even said the accompanying trainers needed to "go away" to "make room for more Pikachu."
