Time to try to justify my opinions.
Bug - I've always liked moths and sun-themed stuff, so combining the two was my dream come true. Well-executed design, and from a mechanical point of view it's just downright amazing.
Fairy - It's just so damn cute. It even has an adorable cry to boot. Mechanically it's not too shabby either.
Dark - I love dogs so any dog Pokemon will instantly get points with me. Simple but great design (inb4 "hurr it's edgy"). Mechanically it's pretty great too. Not top tier, sure, but Fire/Dark is a good offensive typing and it gets some nice tricks.
Dragon - Great design, and the whole line has a nice, unique backstory that builds up rather well, making it feel like an actual creature. Mechanically, I don't think I have to explain what's great about it. I promise it's a coincidence that Sylveon and Hydreigon both happen to be in my favorites.
Electric - Pure nostalgia, this one. I played Yellow a lot when I was young so I've always had a fondness for the Pika line. Raichu would always be in my party in the other games I've played, and even today he still manages to crop up in my team every now and then.
Fighting - This dude crops up in my parties a lot, too. Beetles are just one of the coolest insects around. Mechanically it's p. great too, even if it's not as top tier as it used to be.
Fire - It has this nice, "spooky-cute" feel to it, and it has a nice color scheme. I wish Gamefreak didn't retcon its hidden ability though, because the shitstorm it would have started would have been hilarious.
Flying - I used this in my first BW1 run, and even then I loved it. Nice and colorful, and it has a great animation too. People give it shit over it looking awkward, but that's the entire point. The creature it's based on was terrible at flying.
Ghost - Fuck Mismagius. This ghost is where it's at. I first used it in Colosseum, and it wrecked ass so hard with Confuse Ray bullshit, and that's how I fell in love with it.
