Look at this chart. These are all the "letters" they have. Instead of L they have to use R.
Japanese is a stupid fucking language.
Lets make a few examples.
If you want to write the English word "light" (pronounced lait) you would have to write it Raito in Japanese because there is no other way. They have to write the words the way they are pronounced.
Also the N is the only letter which can stand alone without ending with a vowel.
