In my case it's that and the fact that I don't like "pretty" or "cute" boys that permeate 90% of Japanese media, but instead I prefer handsome men which are a little harder to find thanks to Japan's standards for what girls typically like. These beloved train clowns have a more unique look without compromising handsomeness, even managing to be weird in a charming way, not an offputting one. That being said, I always figured Arceus had nothing to do with Ingo's situation, I thought it was an accidental side effect from Volo opening rifts to find Arceus. The Pokemon that appear in the space-time distortions could be experiencing the same situation as Ingo, who just got very unlucky and didn't get warped back when it disappeared. I also entirely blame Uxie for Ingo's amnesia since Uxie is so close to the Pearl Settlement, but it seems inconsistent if rifts/distortions cause memory loss or not.
