Why is May getting so much promotion in merch now? She's getting multiple plush figures, a lot of figures/toys from the Pokemon girl line (both R/S and ORAS May were made), she's featured heavily in Pokemon Masters promos for the new feature and she got like 4 alts in the last few months (Latias dress, the bunny/Lopunny one, the fighting outfit/Blaziken, etc).
They're promoting the hell out of her everywhere outside the anime.
