>>55030354If you want the real reason, it's because Gen 5 came out right around the time Gen wunners were becoming adults. And these ""people"" were shocked to find out that not only did Pokemon continue without them this whole time, but the newest game wasn't even going to have their favorites from KANTOOOOOOOOO.
So they were shitting on everything and anything that came from this game. It's only after they got placated by Kanto Pandering (especially Pokemon GO) that they went back to not caring about Pokemon again, and people can discuss Pokemon games in a (kind of almost somewhat) reasonable manner again.
