>>47135738Nah, it's mostly just looking at his on-the-side promotional art for the past and only his bitch basic character art for the new stuff. Just looking at the TCG, there were always Sugimori art that looked just as sanitized and boring and made for terrible card art. Whenever he draws something for the fun of it, it still looks great. You just don't see that as much anymore because Pokemon doesn't depend on a single artist doing everything for every part of the franchise. It's a game of pretending that the original games were art and the new ones are just corporate, when really they were always trying to be both.
