>>53768066I have a weird brain tic where I fill in the gaps off prior incarnations of a story. People criticize Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood for pacing because the beginning flies by, but I didn’t see it because I watched 2003 first, and it better covers the early chapters of the manga before going its own way. When Brotherhood came out they what they needed to get the job done for new viewers. I remembered the 2003 and filled in the gaps. Lillie’s arc is the same. I love the Exeggutor island scene with Lillie so much and her leaving to Kanto is bitter sweet because I’m proud of her for her confidence to journey on her own but I’m sad I won’t be with her. I didn’t realize how much USUM took away from her because I remembered SuMo.
It seems strange, but I think it’s important for her to do this. I think she needs to learn things by doing and having her own adventure her own way. It might be cringe but I felt better when Wicke tells you she goes to Kanto because she thinks Bill could help Lusamine, because I wondered why she didn’t want to go on her journey with me.
Anyway, I came away from SuMo with one regret; there was no option to confess your feelings to her before she leaves. The protag has that blank look while that sweet bean sails away. I’m halfway self insert, I guess, as I use Elio more like an avatar, so I’m redoing the ending. I’m going to chase her on my Braviary and talk to her about her reasons for leaving, tell her I support her choice, I’m proud of her, and most importantly, I love her. We kiss and start our long distance love until she returns and I battle her as a fully realized trainer. Then we get married kids, yada yada yada. Here’s my second Lillie attempt
