sword and shield’s “story” and gym leaders (bar Leon) were fucking trash, i hadn’t opened the game in over a year, then a couple days ago i was thinking about a living pokedex. turns out, sword and shield are fantastic for the simple reason that an open world (the dlc) with just a goal to simply catch and search for pokémon is an amazing feeling that i’ve been looking for since yellow.
now that i’ve seen something about these games that doesn’t piss me off , and the great feeling that comes from just catching pokémon in an open space, i can say with confidence that with a little retooling these could have been the best games in the franchise. fucking game freak.
of course, don’t get me wrong they’re still bad, but now i can feel somewhat excited for legends
