Misty because Ash was being too joyously callous about her leaving (Toxic Positivity?)
Serena because Ash was being too viciously callous about her trying to console him (Toxic negativity?)
Both situations have Ash start out in opposite moods but failing to read the girl's thought process.
It's tragically funny that after all this time Ash seemed to legitimately believe Misty wants to go home quickly on her bike, and also couldn't tell that Serena was making his feelings her top priority.
One could read this as Ash's social skills being terrible in part to his Mom's efforts. Misty is probably so aggressive because of her sisters, Brock is allegedly so ornery due to his need to find a partner to be a better parent to his siblings. Then there's Ash who wandered off with an incomplete set of mental equipment
