I can't necessarily blame the writers for such works doing htis, seeing as attempting to write beyond what you *do* know can be... Messy to say the least. From a logistical perspective, it's just easier to handwave or ignore such factors and go straight for what the author and audience wants. Those isekai Pokemon works are doing *something* right to attract the audience that they have, appealing to what they want and getting it out the door.
But the deeper writer and reader within men longs for something more. Something to fill in the void and treat with the other potential nuances to be had in a Pokemon world. It isn't an easy thing, filling in the nuances, even if you just limit yourself to the lore of a single game. But that's the thing, isn't it? You have to put in the elbow grease to fill in or otherwise recreate portion of the Pokemon world that has either not been covered by the official sources for various reasons, or otherwise sanitized for the same due to the audience consuming it.
Isekais *can* be interesting, given the right writer. You just need to put in the damned work in to make it interesting. It doesn't even need to be all that complicated. Just put *one* interesting spin on it, and take things to their logical conclusion. Perhaps it is a bit much to ask for isekaing a whole town, and the genre itself can be considered well treaded in some respects. But I know something more can be done beyond the mere basics. It's easier said than done, knowing from my own personal experiences attempting to tackle such a thing, but there has to be a writer out there that has the right stuff to get something interesting out.
