You TRADE. There are 2 different versions of EVERY mainline pokemon game, with different pokemon exclusively in them. If the legendary was uncatchable, you would trade for it, or save right before the fight and reset your switch if you failed, like in all the older games. It is a legendary because it is supposed to be hard to catch, you dense motherfucker.
