the good news is that it's possible to make the AI not spam full restores, but that comes at the cost of not being able to use full restores yourself in battle, and also means the AI will bug out and try spamming full restores on weak mons (if this is a negative for you, i guess it means easy setup sweeps)
i guess next i'll try and look in the battle_ai and see if i can stop the AI from physically being able to use an item, but it seems like that would cause a crash
