>>48010248I just go for pokemon I like, which in my case are usually the cute ones. Unless the selection is really bad I'll also avoid using pokemon I've gone though main stories with before. Other than that I don't impose anything on myself like not repeating types or looking for specific natures, or evolving something just so it has its best stats. So if I like a certain stage of a pokemon vastly better than its other ones, I won't evolve it. I also play on set, so I do tend to get quite a few challenging battles during the main game, and honestly it feels like that's way pokemon was meant to be approached.
