I feel the exact same way. It's just not the same as it once was; call it nostalgia if you will, but I've been an active Pokemon player my entire life and up until Let's Go, I was a adamant player. I still use some of the same Pokemon I've been using since RSE and FRLG. I've watch the anime, and currently trying to binge watch the entire series. I've watched the first few movies nearly 50 times each in my life, if not more (especially the first movie). I've got tons of merch, both from my early childhood to products I've bought recently - everything from plushes to clothing.
Pokemon is my life, and it's awful to see it go to such a downward spiral because GameFreak just doesn't care. They're bored of Pokemon, but continue the series simply to make money, knowing that no matter what they do they'll make money, and that's such a bad philosophy to have. And while I do think SWSH will sell incredibly well, I have a feeling the following games will hurt in sales because of the decisions for this game - and call me a conspiracy nut, but I believe the next continuation of SWSH will have the Nation Dex and a few other missing features as a selling point, and that just feels scummy to me. Since Pokemon Go's success, they just want as much money as possible
And it's funny, because especially recently, the rest of the Pokemon Company has been on point, from the Anime to Merch, and they're celebrating all Pokemon. Not everything they produce is great, but they put in a lot of effort to try and make the brand as good as possible - While GameFreak just doesn't care. I don't know if it's just Masuda, or the company as a whole, but they're destroying something so many people hold dear.
I hold hope that it'll get better, but it's hard to remain optimistic. I'll be a fan for life though, and if it never truly gets better, I'll still thrive with the many years of enjoyable content that used to be produced. Maybe one day, things will be okay.
