When I first saw Pokemon, I thought it was weird. It was the first foreign cartoon I'd seen, and I didn't understand why the mouths moved so odd. But, I gave it a chance, and I'm glad I did, because I fell in love with it. It's by far my favorite show of all time, not necessarily because I've enjoyed every moment of it, but because the good moments are some of my most treasured memories. I'll never forget when I cried because I saw Pikachu's Goodbye the day after my dog died. I'll never forget watching Mewtwo Strikes Back at summer camp, but never seeing the ending because my mom picked me up early. I'll never forget how much fun I had singing the theme songs with my friends at the lunch table. These memories and many more shaped me, and I'm grateful for it. Even after everyone else moved on, I still kept up-to-date with Ash and his adventures. Through all the changes life has brought, Ash and Pikachu were always there. Now I'm grown, and I know it's time to move on, but I can't help but be a little sad right now.
The characters who carried my childhood will carry it to its end. Thank you for being there through it all.
