>>32379824You can buy ranged TMs from Cofagrigus for a couple of gold bars. You'll get a few after some missions and there's not much else competing for your gold. Energy Ball, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Focus Blast. I think the only starter who can't learn one of these is Pikachu.
You could also try zig-zagging an enemy towards a wall as they keep moving back trying to line up their ranged move.
