The game is just as mediocre as all the other Pokemon games since 2013, but a lot of surrounding circumstances broke the camels back. Nearly all the criticisms are valid but are greatly overstated. It does feel like a HD 3DS game which most didn't want. Those who say the game is a 0/10 and a disaster are just reactionary faggots that I can't take seriously since they are just as childish as those that say it's a great game and 10/10. The game is around a 6/10 not counting how the finished DLC will leave it.

They save Gym Leaders' development and personality for appearances in the Anime/future games. With the exemption of Gen 5 since Gym Leaders are semi relevant to the plot with them making multiple appearances through the game.
