Having gay characters does not make something gayshit - ToE's leads are gay but like, sexual attraction to each other is like never the focus of their relationship. It's not the horny kind of gay, and their relationship is important as they're the two main characters that are a part of the bulk of what's happening in the story. If they were not together, the story would be a lot different, and it's honestly kind of nice to see them weather the storm together. Characters occasionally addressing their relationship doesn't turn it into fagslop either, like

I find it can be hard to explain the fine line between having characters be gay and having characters be faggots - I have a very low tolerance for faggotry, and what I've seen in ToE is not faggotry. They're just two males in a relationship together.
As for OBT... It's a more faggoty there I would argue, since the gay relationships are much more surface level and feel like they're there more because the author gets off to it than because it's important to the story. OBT's story doesn't really change if the gay relationships didn't exist. Maybe I feel this way because the OC designs are way more garish and tumblr-y, but it's hard to say.
