I replaced it with the Arcanine I caught in the Old Chateau and did a bit of grinding (read: nowhere near enough fucking grinding) there since it was full of fully-evolved mons. I went back to the Galactic building and Bowie's Focus Band actually triggered for once (I think? Does it say if it triggers? It lived on 1 and I just assumed.) And then Jupiter's ace was a Donphan six levels above me that killed Flowre with a crit Slam before I could get a move off.
Don't panic I told myself, at least it won't have a Ground move this early. Oh wait, I forgot what gen we were playing, it gets Magnitude at level 19 which destroys my entire team. My only play was to hope against hope that Rhyferior could tank Magnitude and get a crit on Revenge. Precisely one of those two things happened. Luckily (or so I thought) I had just swapped Rhyferior's Quick Claw for a Leftovers I found (since I didn't want to outspeed for Revenge purposes) and it alternated between low-rolling Magnitude and using Slam for whatever reason. When its Sitrus Berry popped I nearly punched my screen. AND THEN IT GOT MAGNITUDE 10. Game. Fucking. Over. Or was it?
I had one chance. One. If I could just get a crit with Bowie's Slash, or if it used Slam instead of Magnitude (and didn't crit for once) and I got a second Slash in, I'd win. I go for the Slash, it doesn't crit, and IT ACTUALLY USED SLAM, THE ABSOLUTE MADMAN! Move over Flowre, we've got a new MVP in the house. Based Bowie saves the day. Now time to rebuild the team and actually do some serious training so this shit doesn't happen again.
