>>19354100There were two. The first was that the ingame map was bugged to hell and back, It would have been lazy to have kept it as the default Hoenn map but not showstopping at least. The real killer was that maps started to break as well thanks to running out of reliable hex space. Normally that isn't a problem on R/S/FR/LG roms thanks to having huge amounts of unused space, but since Emerald uses a lot more hex space and has other weird quirks that make romhacking it a pain in the ass and you have to be careful about how you use the space. The choice was to either restart all my work or just abandon the project altogether and I just decided that it wasn't worth it to redo it all. I might give it another go though because I'm near the beginning of that cycle again and feeling the urge to romhack.
