Personally, I think they shoulda gone for a combined Kanto + Johto region just like the Gen 2 games, but instead of starting out in New Bark Town, start in Pallet Town and work your way to the Johto region after collecting all 8 Kanto badges. That way, the Genwunners would still get adequate nostalgic feels from the initial Kanto journey and the Jotoddlers wouldn't need to wait for a prospective Let's Go sequel. Obviously, the Pokedex would need to be expanded to include all the Gen 2 Mons as well, but I'd rather not dedicate a whole number slot just to add something that's a given for my #1.

Better and more diverse clothing options. Actual ability to change your fucking hairstyle (wtf were they thinking?). The customization should have been at bare minimum on par with X&Y/ S&M.
