Game takes place in some dumb timeframe somewhere in the future. Traditionalist values start to clash with a rapidly progressing society and tech level spearheaded by arbitrary "bad-guy" (whether just a reformation of a previous group or not, who fucking cares anymore). Tapu are angry about it because "muh respect, muh tribute, muh native laaaaaaaaand".
The game probably ends up focusing on Necro of the prismriver so they don't have to actually design jack. Maybe some crap about being able to channel light from the ultra-dimension or some other pseudo-intelligent whatever.
