On first glance they seem like normal generic Pokemon but they're actually a clever commentary on toxic masculinity well before it was mainstream acknowledged. They're about how men can act like animals and "pigheaded" during acts of abrasive masculinity (see the pig nose reference to this). It's very clever and people need to give the designs the respect they deserve.
