/Finally caught Cresselia.
The tweak to trigger the roaming event early wasn't too hard to pull off - there's a tutorial on YouTube if anyone's interested in doing it for themselves. Actually catching her was the hard part.
I caught a Corphish in Celestic Town that I was able to evolve into a Crawdaunt the very next level, who I used as my False Swiper. The Bronzor sitting in my PC was used for Hypnosis. Here's the problem with that: unlike in HGSS, where the roaming legendaries will let you get a hit in before fleeing no matter what level you are, Cresselia's fleeing in Diamond doesn't have negative priority. If any of my Pokemon had less than 95 speed, Cresselia would just run away and immediately end the battle.
Since Bronzor and Crawdaunt are both slow as hell, the only solution I had to this was to equip them with the Quick Claw, which only has a 20% chance of activating. Hypnosis was even more irritating because it has a 70% accuracy, and I ended up activating the Quick Claw twice and missing Hypnosis both times before getting it on the third time around. And even after all that, my chances of catching Cresselia were still only about 1.6% due to my "Poke Balls only" rule.
But I did it. I might actually be the *first* person to do this in a DP Nuzlocke pre-National Dex, which is mind-boggling to think about. I won't be able to use Kaguya until after the Volkner fight, but I'm going to sequence break a little and take on Volkner right after Candice so I can turn her loose on Team Galactic at Mt. Coronet. It'd be poetic, I think.
Other updates:
>Fought a couple of trainers at the Snowpoint City gym and Sasuke almost died, but lived with two HP.
>Got Footprint Ribbons for Sasuke, Kurt, Snapdragon, and Selene. The line he gives for "scary" Pokemon like Crobat with maximum friendship is a real tearjerker.
>Sasuke and Deep Blue tore through Team Galactic at the lakes with little difficulty.
>Trained up some of the reserves. Still need a strategy for Candice.
