ironically, its Origins The whole special boiled down to just being a dumb reveal for Zard X, Megas were always indicated to be in commemoration of older regions instead of Kalos and that might be why people forget about XY so much-- Kalos doesn't have a gimmick like Alola and Galar have that give itself more identity. It's just Unova 3.
