I chose to save the officer since despite being the objectively shittier thing to do it's actually a better outcome
I imagine when Rejuvenation steals the Anna/Lin ending idea from Reborn and makes it so that the 'golden ending' happens based on a few key things the player does, saving the officer here will be one of them and it'll be just as untelegraphed and retarded as the choices in Reborn that lead to the Anna ending
