The dex being cut and their excuses about it is what inflates its problems to a more major degree and is why everyone is mad about it. There wouldn't be as big of a backlash if the dex cuts translated to a better game. "Better animations!", "better models!", straight lies. There's absolutely no apparent benefit. Overworld encounters and free camera aren't even featured in every area.
