My first shiny was a shiny Zubat in pearl, caught in the Rustboro mines. I remember it well, I had just moved out into uni halls and was chilling in my room playing. Couldn’t believe it as I hadn’t seen a single shiny in the wild despite having played extensively since RBY. I boxed her and used her in my first HGSS playthrough, I still have her now on my USUM cart and I use her when I can.
Since then my luck improved a little, no shinies in Gen V but in Gen VI I caught a shiny Drifloon at that place with the windmills. Again I boxed him to use in a full play through which I finally did in my first USUM run. Swapped for my starter.
I also caught a shiny in SM while I was on holiday in Milan. A beautiful shiny __male Salandit which I’ve again boxed for a future playthrough.
