>>37162989In the finals a trainer named Rex was his rival. His specialty was Dragon type Pokemon, but his team was strong enough to not leave any weaknesses open.
Rex sent out Dragonite, his favorite Pokemon, while Rickard decided to send Carracosta. His high defenses allowed Carracosta to withstand enough attacks to Dragonite, until it managed to defeat Dragonite with a well placed Ice Beam. 6-5
Rex sent out Metagross, which resisted both Water and Rock. Rickard didn't withdraw since his Carracosta could use Earthquake. However he didn't count on Metagross ability to use Magnet Rise. Carracosta fell to a well placed Meteor Smash. 5-5
Darmanitan was sent out against Metagross, hoping to outspeed it enough to defeat it with a Flare Blast. However Metagross' Agility made it speedy enough to avoid Darmanitan's attacks, only to finish it with an Earthquake 4-5.
Krookodile was sent out next, it managed to trap Metagross in a Sand Tomb long enough for Magnet Rise to be ineffective. Krookodile defeated Metagross with a couple of well placed Dig attacks. 4-4
Tyrantrum was sent next, but Krookodile managed to avoid his attacks thanks to his tunnel network, and did quick work against it. 4-3.
Tyranitar was then sent out. Using Rock Tomb it managed to seal the Krookodile holes, forcing Krookodile to come out. It then hit it with a Stone Edge, defeating him. 3-3.
Mienshao was sent out. Her Calm Mind helped her predict where Tyranitar would throw rocks next, and with a couple of good Bounce moves she would swiftly avoid them. Every 3 attacks Tyranitar missed, Mienshao would land a Jump Kick or a Drain Punch, withering him out, until Tyranitar was defeated. 3-2
Mienshao was withdrawn, and Escavalier came out to face Salamence. Escavalier managed to resist most of Salamence's attacks, but his Flamethrower would prove deadly. 2-2.
Whimsicott was sent out, and after a couple of well placed Moonblasts, Salamence was out. Haxorous was also no match for the strong Fairy 2-0
