>>58916167Yellow candies can be used on any base 5* character regardless of role. The problem comes down to roles.
Strike, Tech, and Support are the original three roles. Of these three, Strike is the most common role for Master Fair characters while Tech and Support are infrequent and you'll be able to use candies you slowly build up to 5/5 those characters. You will always be lacking in enough Strike candies to do the same for them though.
Sprint and Field were later roles added at the same time. The reward systems in the game are mostly based around giving coins for Strike, Tech, and Support before Sprint and Field if they give any coins to them at all, like how getting a Trainer Lodge character to level 100 friendship won't give you anything for them, but will still give coins to the original three roles. And doing multis on a banner will still prioritize the original roles for coin bonuses, with Sprint and Field requiring you to invest a larger number of gems before getting their coins. Field in particular has had a large number of Master Fairs released for it over the past year or so simply because the meta of the game has pivoted to focus on EX field effects, meaning Field candies are in far more demand than Sprint candies despite being equally as rare.
Multi can only rank up through the yellow candies, and Arc Fairs are about a year and a half, and also meta-defining especially at 5/5. 11 characters now, assuming you got one of each, means 44 yellow candies to get to 5/5. These candies are probably about as rare to get as Sprint and Field. Before the introduction of Multi and Field becoming prominent, yellow candies were used to supplement the deficit of strike candies.
tl;dr Multi requires them, they're rare, but strike and now field also really need them based on how common they are.
