As someone who has a dislike of shallow and poorly written Isekai/SI stories in the Pokemon world, the idea of a Pokemon Isekai story but done in a Konosuba style teases me when I'm having writer's block with my current WIP. Here are some of the ideas I've toyed around with:
>The protagonist has meta-knowledge, but whenever it comes to actual locations from the games and where valuable items were, they're not there. Maybe even there's a trap instead.
>The MC's traveling partner would be a very proud, very overconfident former gym leader (Clair seems hard-coded for this, not just because she has Aqua-adjacent hair but because her hubris would clash well with an arrogant meta-knowledge MC).
>MC would have a really strong, really fearsome Pokemon like an Incinieroar, but it's as obedient as Ash's Charizard in the early seasons of the show.
>MC would catch a Dreepy or a Gible, thinking he'll have a badass pseudo-legend at some point, but it just never evolves.
>MC gets a Gardevoir that's madly in love with him but he's not into that (to put it lightly). It cockblocks him when he hits it off with other female characters.
>The Rival that hates him from the get go somehow gets forced into being in the MC's party and the ongoing circus of BS drags the Rival's reputation down with the rest of them.
>MC gets a Legendary/Mythical, but it's mostly useless (but cute)
Some of these are starting to overlap a bit, but they can always be combined. I was just spitballing ideas in between writing for my WIP. Does anyone else have any gags that fit the tone of this parody of a Pokemon Isekai?
