There are six gens now, and every one of them has pros and cons. What do you think they are?
Keep in mind these are opinions.

Generation 1 - Kanto
Pros: 151 'new' pokemon, the generation with the second largest amount.
Main plot's simply just walking the lands of Kanto, getting Gym Badges and becoming the Champion.
Tons of glitches to exploit.
Cons:Tons of glitches to accidentally trigger.
There were 32 or 33 different cries used between all of those pokemon.
Getting to level 100 was a real bitch. (Though others would see that as a pro.)

Generation 2 - Johto
Pros:The music was pretty memorable.
Two regions to visit.
Two new types.
Cons: Kanto was devoid of almost any new content.
The wild Pokemon were very underleveled, as were the E4
The amount of new Pokemon unrelated to Gen 1 was very small.
Generation 3 - Hoenn
Pros: Like Johto, the music was fantastic.
Tons of landscapes to explore, like jungles, volcanoes, seas, ships, deserts
Gen 3 was cut off from 1 and 2, forcing players to start anew, which I saw as good.
Secret bases.
Cons: The enemy teams were incompetent.
The beginning of the game had a shitload of trumpets.
Zubat still exists.
Generation 4: Sinnoh
Pros: Pretty big world with memorable locales.
Post-game had a lot to do.
The rival in Platinum had a really high leveled team that was fun to fight.
Cons: Mount Coronet, all of it.
Backtracking around the 3rd-5th gyms and taking that detour to Celestia Town
The shitload of Legendaries.
Generation 5 - Unova
Pros: Around 160 new pokemon introduced, many new typing combinations and good designs.
White Forest/Black City were both amazing.
The story was well-done if a little overplayed.
Cons: The post-game being the post-game was unnecessary.
Most of the Legendaries were spoonfed to you.
Ghestis' generic plot in B/W2

I'm clearly saying that, in this video game, something as small as this which results in the same thing regardless of the path taken to reach it just doesn't matter. Breeding is menial, mundane task. I'm currently playing the PWT, first two slots are Haxorus and Lucario. Tried Starmie, Jolteon, Volcarona in the 3rd slot over and over and kept losing to gym leaders, then I put Serperior in and now I've just beat the world leaders tournament on my first try and 5 tournaments in a row

I agree, Team Flare is the weirdest fucking team since Magma/Aqua. The reason why is because the writers didn't know it is was good or bad. I know there were parts in the game where the team looked like some sort of secret society for the rich and famous, but then they have things like killing fucking everyone which is obviously bad. Their right idea of saving the world was completely covered up by their actions.

GF really dropped the ball this time. I hope the 3rd version fixes some of this.

First and second gen were best, the quality assurance in artwork started dropping in 3rd gen, but went out the door completely in 4th gen.

Yes, nostalgia is a factor to consider - but quality assurance is something to consider too. The ganeplay dynamics have improved, but the design and lack of direction of the new pokemon is less than satisfactory.

There were some below average designs in first gen yes. I'll still pick tangela over shroomish any day of the week though.

The sense of adventure is fading, no longer are you exploring prehistoric caves to find long lost aerodactyls, instead you're searching for the legendary toaster pokemon that can take every type. Which came first, the refrigerator or the rotom? Furthermore, why the fuck do refridgerators even exist with ice pokemon around? I'm not going to think too hard about this because, yes, its a cartoon fantasy world - but they make it too easy.

That's not to say that there are any shortage of legendaries in the newer generations. So much actually that electabuzz may as well be more of a mythical pokemon than the rare ones you're expected to hype over. That since of mewtwo being an all powerful psychic pokemon is cheap now, nostalgia is the only thing keeping it alive really. The legendary birds? cool. The legendary dogs? awesome. The legendary golems? uhhh ones an icecube and the other is a boulder but hey - cool riddles. Now I have to look at a fucking bulbapedia article just to figure out which trio of legendaries is intended to be the current generations designated set.

I don't run anything past 3rd gen even though I know more powerful type combinations exist, and third gen is really just metagross or salamence, I played that generation to the end and did not enjoy it in the same sense as crystal or yellow. It was 'okay', and that enthusiam fades more as the number of pokemon exceeds the number of moves.

Do you live in Africa, because I live in a 3rd world country and still get Ice cream, every 10-12 blocks.

And of course if food is my only survival option I won't share it (Except for family and maybe, slightly maybe ... friends). But a fucking Ditto is not needed to survive.

It could be possible that in the world of Pokemon there are many wars going on, that we do not see.

It is probably not all sunny and peaceful like it is in the regions we play the game in.
The world is probably starting to get overpopulated and people are fighting over things in other regions, thus creating wars where pokemon are the weapons.

Team Flare is the result of trying to fix the conflict found in 3rd world Regions.
