>>51474042This is going to sound really autistic, but here we go.
A few years ago, before SwSh were announced, I had an idea for games set in poke-china and the rival would be a Unovan trainer who acted up because he was homesick. He would refuse to use any pokemon but Unovan pokemon apart from the starter, but the starter would be his weakest by a large margin.
As am exmple, his 3rd team (2 badges in) would be
>Woobat lv 24>Pawniard lv 24>Element 1 (Deerling/Frillish/Larvesta) lv 25>Element 2 (Deerling/Frillish/Larvesta) lv 25>Starter lv 18>Axew lv 26After a certain story event, after gym 6, his starter would save him and he would become more open to pokemon native to the china region, using the bird (rock/flying) to replace woobat, the 2-stage friendship mon (ground/fairy) to replace Pawniard, and the psuedo (dragon/psychic) to replace Axew. He would keep the elemental unovan mons as a way to keep his roots intact.
In the shitty little script I wrote, I had stuff like this
>After getting starter"Listen, I don't want to be here, I'm just going to use this pokemon to catch stronger, better Unovan pokemon. Then, I'll become champion and use the prize money to go back home. Don't get in my way!"
>Meeting professor in an old tower to learn about the legendary pokemon"Thanks for the lesson on legends, professor, but I'm in a hurry to become Champion, so if you don't mind, I'll be going now"
>Battle right before the league, firs time battling him since reevaluating himself after being saved by his starter"I was wrong before. The pokemon here....no, all pokemon everywhere are just as good as each other. Whether they're our pets, allies, or best friends, every pokemon out there has something to offer the world. That's why I'm here now, I've met many new pokemon since last time, and now I'll show the wolrd how far we've come. Before one of us becomes champion, let me show you how strong any pokemon raised by THIS Unovan trainer can really be!"
