>>37098294As a Gen1er, I'd do the token all regions game that I've wanted since Johto was revealed. It'd be a back to basics, but still expand on the story. It still floors me that Gamefreak never revisits regions except to redo them. Why can't we ever see them 10 years in the future? Anyway...
Start out in a small region connected to johto from above. It's a tutorial with only 4 gyms and 30 new pokemon, up to 50 if you count they're evolved forms.
Then you travel down to Johto and everyone's aged 5-10 years so there's twists. Maybe the first gym is the last, maybe the whirl islands have been mined and become a single huge cave, maybe goldenrod took off and became even bigger, ect.
Then you travel to Kanto for the same deal. 5-10 years after gen 2, and everything has a twist. Maybe Misty is the leader of Celedon city and you double battle her where she uses a mix of water and grass, maybe there's an underground subway system that connects the underground hallways and there's a new city down there, ect.
Then to the Indigo Plateau for the elite 4, more twists. Instead of Burno, you get Brock, maybe Lance is 3rd in line and Blue is the 4th.
After you beat them, you are told you now have clearance to explore the new region above Kanto. It's entirely open world, with no real towns, more just settlements of high level trainers and there's no real driving story. Introduce 20 new pokemon here and everything is level 80 or above.
You wander around there doing post game side quests eventually finding Red. This is where he went after you beat him in Mt Silver in Gold/Silver. Now he's level 100, has megas, ect.
Maybe a 3rd version released later that lets you go to the Sevii Islands or something.
They already have the maps, hell Kanto is already HD. Fucking use them.
