>>33674352>>33674377You can type in all the caps you want, screen scanning still requires extra data from your phone to go to the server.
The analysis can be done server-side, whoop-de-fucking-doo, I didn't talk about that at all. Did I say that the analysis is going to get done client-side? No I fucking did not.
I'm talking about the fucking data usage from your phone. Touchscreen logs, screenshots, video, whatever they use that could be related to those claims, all need to get sent to the server at some point and when they do, they are going to jack up the data usage for your phone because this data needs to get sent regularly. And people, cheaters or otherwise, are going to cry bloody murder.
PoGo running idle 24/7 already eats up 2-3GB/mo, most people can barely get 2-5 GB/mo and 99% of normies are busy streaming music, Facebook, YouTube, etc. non-stop and only a handful of carriers give data usage exemptions to those services. It's just going to kill activity because people become too tethered to their wifi more than usual.
I don't doubt that Niantic is adding more anti-cheating measures. But I think the claim that they're adding any sort of regular screen scanning+streaming is pretty retarded. And as
>>33674295 mentioned, there is plenty of random shit floating around the screen on a lot of people's phones. Niantic devs are retarded but not like that. And not to mention the shit phones that barely register 10-15 fps while playing that most people use since they live in a 3rd world country and/or are too cheap. Any attempt to track touchscreen movements while the phone is being unresponsive as shit is going to be a hell of a way to get false positives.
