>>21884699During this period there were many Shippers Prom and Shippers Truth or Dare topics. At some point Archaic became president of OPS again and Hiker became Vice President and all other offices were eliminated. It remained this way until OPS eventually became inactive and faded out.
With the end of Johto, Misty and Gary both left the series. While the Shipping fandom continued, this was presumed to be the end of both Ships in the actual show for a while. Ash soon met up with May, a new female lead for the series, presenting worries that she could become a new rival for his affections, worries that soon appeared to be confirmed. Many picked up on the Ship, naming it AdvanceShipping. This only fuelled the initial hatred of May by many Misty fans but the canonicity of AdvanceShipping was soon questioned and became commonly debated. This has been strengthened in the minds of some with the entrance of May's rival, Drew, in a way AG's answer to PalletShipping. Drew giving a rose to May after her first Contest quickly led to the creation of ContestShipping.
The special episodes (Hosos) that often included Misty, Daisy, and Tracey also produced some surprises. While Misty refusing to go on a date with a boy because she was in love with "someone else" caused PokéShippers to jump for joy, other Shippers were noticing different undertones. With two characters accusing Misty and Tracey of being a couple and later a fantasy sequence of the two falling in love, many Shippers soon flocked to OrangeShipping. Strictly speaking, this had already been created years before by Alfonso as an opponed to AAML, yet it was not until this point that it gained much popularity. However, suspicions were also being aroused by Daisy's behavior towards Tracey, creating HandymanShipping.
