>>53977777>>53979345>>53979369>>53979410and finally one last question in my hour long spree of screaming into the void:
13: what’s up with the fact that the player character is constantly referred to as “they” regardless of what the player chose to identify as during character creation? checking the game in RPG maker shows that a lot of the time the dialog’s code actually says “they” instead of whatever dialog formatting that would refer to the player by the intended pronouns. and no, the stupid “well actually the player character appears as a different person to other characters” reveal at the end of chapter 15 (which deserves a long rant in its own post about why it doesn’t make sense in any concievable way) doesn’t count, because 1: most of the offending typos noticed so far are way before that chapter, before anyone would even know that bullshit is going on, and 2: if the intent of trying to connect the overuse of “they” with that receal was somehow to retroactively hint at it, then there must be a really disproportionate amount of people seeing the MC as aero/alain if the pronoun “they” is used that much to refer to the player
honestly I think that shitshow reveal where the player character appears as a different MC option to each person should be retconned out of the game because it raises way too many awkward questions and ridiculous scenarios that would kill suspension of disbelief (changing clothing, physical contact with anything (I guess hitbox dissonance might be a relevant term here), sexual reproduction, going to use a public bathroom, discrepancies with x-ray scans/camera footage/pictures taken/fingerprints/footprints/etc, voices, and anything that could possibly be different between the MC options)
the whole idea of it is a mess and it seriously deserves being retconned and thrown into the garbage bin of bad ideas from earlier versions, never to return
