Hoenn could go either way. Could be in the past with the dragon clan and maybe the sealing of the Regis, but lots of stuff to work with in the future too with New Mauville, the space agency, sea floor expeditions etc.
Unova should be both. Past vs future was a big theme in gen v, so lean into that and have the player travel back and forth, or maybe a setting where past and future collide. Would work for Paldea too.
Alola could go either way. The future with a reformed Aether Foundation, Type Null lore, and lots of Ultra wormhole exploration would be cool, but so would ancient Hawaiian culture.
We already know Galar is going to be in the past.
