On top of that, I can't tell you how many times I've read an Ashfag cry over Goh "stealing" time from him.I'll admit, I was initially bothered by Goh's catching of Suicune, but then I realized that in order to be bothered like I was, you have to strip that scene and episode of literally all its internal context, ignore why Goh threw the ball, ignore Goh being surprised it worked, and ignore Goh literally trying to release Suicune after the fact. And as for believing Ash "deserved" legendary Pokémon feels like a fundamental misreading of Ash's character; in all the movies (except for M20 with Entei, which was specifically portraying a less experienced, rebooted Ash), Ash, at least to my memory, never once thought about catching any of the legendaries or mythical he met, or at least certainly not after he got to know them as individuals.

They become the yanderes themselves that they try and project onto characters, and think Ash shouldn't have close friends because "threats" or whatever. They're one and the same as the types of people who can't conceive of close male friendship without buttsex being the natural endpoint or close female friendship without carpet munching. I genuinely start to wonder if these people have ever met another human being in their lives or get all their knowledge about human interaction from anime and porn.
