Absolute bs but at least it was the first one in the series
>Harrison
Acceptable, still only his second tournament. There was no bs like the first one, he beat his rival and had a close match against a more experienced trainer from an unexplored region. Also pushed him to go to Hoenn
>Tyson
It was OK. Ash's team sucked but it was still close, and this time he lost to the winner of the league. At least it was progress. Like Harrison, another random guy who popped up at the end
>Tobias
Absolute bs. This was when it became clear they just didn't want him to win, even though sinnoh Ash was the best he'd ever been at this point. He deserved it far more than before but was stopped by a plot device
>Cameron
He could have gone in there with Gigalith, Emboar, Serperior, and Samurott but two were still 1st evo and two were 2nd evo. Also got sweeped by Hydreigon and Riolu/Lucario. This was a season of Ash being a retard and he lost to an even bigger retard who only brought 5 pokemon. Tobias at least had bs legendaries, this was disgraceful and a massive step back
>Alain
As much salt as this one received, it was actually pretty good. Alain had plenty of buildup throughout the series as a rival, he wasn't introduced last minute. He annihilated everyone else and Ash brought him to the edge. It was close, it was fair

This one was great. Alola league gets a lot of flak for being shit, but the fact is that Ash beat the strongest guy in Alola who fought alongside a legendary. It aged well with Ash still being the underdog representative of a weaker league, and seeing the 'champion' chant was awesome
