They completely shoved BW N’s story into a 2 minute flashback, and then went on with him being a self acclaimed Pokémon Ranger. N’s character in the anime was again, very inconsistent, because one minute he’s traveling with Ash and friends and witnessing them bonding with their Pokémon, having fun battles, and generally having a good time, only to then berate another character for their relationship with Pokémon. All that development N was supposed to have with his story was left behind by the writers in place of “oh he traveled the world so how’s he cool kind of maybe?”

N could have been the mythical League rival that always fucks Ash over, instead of “I thought it was a 5v5” Cameron and Virgil who didn’t even battle Ash. Someone who thinks literally the exact opposite of Ash, coming out the winner of the Pokémon League, would’ve been a great Kickstarter to a development arc for Ash and perfect tie in to the upcoming Team Plasma arc.
N running around the place saying “humans and Pokémon bad” when he’s never even seen a relationship like that in person, while also basing his beliefs off of his experience with Team Plasma, is retarded.
