>>44209893>TobiasMakes sense for there to be people who use Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. Besides, Tobias is meant to be the in-universe representation of a VGC player, during the meta when Legendaries and certain Mythicals were allowed to be used.
>CameronThat was all entirely on Ash for being a complete idiot. Ash wasted Boldore and Oshawott against Cameron's "secret weapon," Hydreigon (presumably his strongest Pokemon). Ash then kept Pignite out against a fucking Samurott. BW was never taken seriously as a real league, since it ended about three-fourths in the way of the series. I have a feeling that their decision to rush all the way through Ash clearing all eight badges just in time for the B2W2 promotion (Season 2) ruined BW. There was a much smoother progression between gyms in BW, as the first gym was clearly early, and the second and third sometime after that. Then there was that massive gap between gyms 3 and 4, and clearly that was going to be the standard. Then everything kept being pushed forward, with several gyms being fought in less than 20 episodes. Badges 5-8 were across 24 episodes, and that included a 4-episode tournament.
>AlainIn that case, Alain was established from the get-go as being just under E4 class. Ash deserved to lose that battle. Charizard was on a class of its own, just over E4 level but under Champion level. Note that only Pikachu and Greninja were good enough to beat Alain's team on their own merits. Talonflame, arguably Ash's most powerful Pokemon after Greninja and Pikachu, tied with Unfezant, which Alain clearly caught for filler space as it doesn't fit with the rest of his team's theme of edgelords and pseudos. Hawlucha beat Weavile with a double type advantage.
>HauHau deserved to win this battle 100%. He was given shit treatment due to Rowlet having plot armor. This battle should have been a 2-on-2, with Rowlet losing to Alolan Raichu, and Pikachu defeating both of them on his own.
